Miro Kyoto Nijo Hotel

This is my second time staying there. I liked it so much the first time I stayed again. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s quiet and in a great spot for things to do. 5 minute walk to the train station.

It is Cheap, good price.

It’s basically a hostel-backpackers , and it doesn’t say so clearlyUltra-super very small rooms, especially for a couple, we had to leave to other hotel mid-stay , we barely had the ability to open the luggage

Nice simple spot. Nearby had some interesting spots and felt like a local place in Japan, instead of a chain

Towel quality wasn’t as what I expected

- short walk to Nijo station , lots of easy connections to major attractions - next to local shopping streets with variety of super markets and restaurants - laundry machines with bathroom heated for drying clothes

Great place, perfect location. Very close (10 minutes) to Nijo-jo temple! Clean room. Vending machine at 1 floor.

The room itself is very small and has no space for a suitcase.

I was extremely pleased with my stay. The front desk offered free laundry detergent with access to one of three washing machines, and the bathroom had a "dryer" coming out of the ceiling, so laundry was easy and free. I am a jogger, and there is a covered shopping street you can use for jogging or, even better, an uninterrupted loop around the nearby Nijo Castle to avoid stoplights. The A/C and cleanliness made the hot days a breeze when I was in the hotel.

The location is not close to many popular attractions, so just be aware of that.

The hotel is in a very quiet zone but nearby there are a lot of stores and the Nijo station is less than 10 minutes walking. There is a smoking area outside the hotel and they will give you soap for the washing machine for free, you can dry your clothes in the bathroom with a dryer function, which was very convenient for us! The staff was helpful and they speak very good English. There is a free to use kitchen which saved us some bucks for a couple of dinners.

The room was very basic and the place had a hostel vibe. Checking/checkout times are not the best compared to other hotel, but we knew that in advance so it was ok.The price was very cheap compared to other hotels in the zone so it was ok overall.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly.

We were told that since we were only staying for 3 nights, that our room would not get made up. Towels we had to go down to the staff desk and request to change towels. Water bottles not provided in the room.

Very good location with a mrket just outside the hotel. Nice room.

Toilet was a bitt to small.

The location was better than I could have imagined. The staff was lovely, and the security excellent. It was so close to the station and subway, I was able to sightsee with ease.Very happy with my choice.

Some noise from next room on day 2, but that is not the hotels fault.

I have no complaints if they charged me JPY4,000 per night which they used to do according to some users’ comments 2 years ago. However JPY20,940 x 3nights = JPY62,840 is outrageous! They left an envelope with a room key at the desk for self check in after 22:30 (not 24:00!). I had to bring my used towels asking to change at the desk and found no one in the morning. I rang the bell and no staff showed up. I left my message on the towels. No cleaning nor collecting garbage for 3 nights 4 days till checkout.No space for desk work. I spoke with a French couple who also complained that they had difficulty opening their suitcases in their tiny room. I will never stay there again.

Clean room, good service, a lot of consumables upon check-in, such as slippers, a toothbrush and a comb. There is a possibility to wash your clothes on the floor. Location was good, near the big shopping arcades.

Rooms were small ant it is difficult to do something with big luggage in it.

Stayed 6 nights. Had to explicitly ask for the garbage bin to be removed from the room

Laundry was free and had these cool extractor fan dryers in the bathroom.

Could have been more cooking utensils. Just one chopping board was a bit inconvenient. The rooms were also tiny. Nowhere to put your bag without tripping over it.

Location near the shopping arcade; kitchen access; considerate and helpful staff.

Non-japanese aren't used to the sorts of beds (small, hard), but this hotel likely couldn't change that.

The water of the lababo goes too slow. The table was small and no chair.

Location of this hotel is very convenient as is about 10 mins away from Nijo Station, is also really closed to a market street where you can find supermarkets, restaurants and convenience stores. The hotel has a public kitchen that you can use to reheat or cook your food. The rooms are very spacious with also a small kitchenette, small dining table so you have plenty of space. Another thing we like is that the hotel has free washing machine to use and they provide detergent as well, however they don’t have a dryer but you can dry the clothes in your room using drying system installed in the bathroom (we used and the clothes was dry overnight).

It's quite expensive for what it actually provides.
